FOR MEN

Hair breakage, shedding and traction alopecia (hair loss due to weaves, braids or ponytails) are very common problems for women. There are approximately 100,000 strands on an average head of hair. Hair grows in three different phases and at any given time will be in one of the separate phases. The anagen phase consists of active hair growth, the catagen phase which is a resting phase in which the hair follicle actually regresses and the telogen phase, where hair sheds.

RYSE specializes in treating male hair loss which can be caused by multiple factors including:  medical conditions (low thyroid, vitamin deficiency), medications (including testosterone replacement therapy) and genetics. Despite all the different causes of hair loss, the leading cause is male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) which refers to hair thinning in an “M-shaped” pattern that is typically mentioned when men talk about balding. Over time, the hair follicles will change and shrink, leading to thinning hair. RYSE has several effective options for treating all types of hair loss.

THE BASIC FACTS ABOUT HAIR

About 90% of the hairs on a human head are normally in the anagen phase at any given time. The average head will shed about 50 to 60 hairs per day and normal hair growth rates are about one half inch per month.

Hair growth rates and these natural hair phases may be disrupted by many medical and environmental factors. Medicines, genetics, diet, autoimmune disorders and pregnancy are some common causes of excessive hair shedding. Stress can lead to hormonal imbalances and also contribute to hair loss, along with poor circulation to the scalp and clogged pores. Mechanical causes include styling the hair in tight braids, buns or pulling hair back from the forehead too severely. Environmental factors such as excessive sun, wind or chlorine exposure will also add to hair breakage as does excessive chemical processing.

For many years, scientists thought that male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia) was caused by the predominance of the male sex hormone, testosterone. It’s actually not testosterone that’s at the core of the balding process, it turns out that DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) a testosterone byproduct is the main cause.

Testosterone is converted DHT by an enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which is present in a hair follicle’s oil glands. Scientists now believe that it’s not the amount of circulating testosterone that’s the problem, but the level of DHT binding to receptors in scalp follicles. DHT shrinks hair follicles, making it impossible for healthy hair to survive.  Treatments for hair loss focus preventing hair loss by blocking DHT and those that stimulate hair growth.

Micro needling with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a revolutionary way to stimulate and restore hair growth. Studies show that this safe, cosmetic hair growth option can improve follicle count by 30% after just 1 treatment. PRP is an ideal component of hair restoration as it is highly effective in stimulating inactive hair follicles, causing them to revert to the growth phase.

Other benefits include:

  • Non-Surgical/ Non-Invasive
  • In office procedure
  • In and Out in 1 to 1.5 hours
  • No downtime
  • Affordable
  • Natural Results

WHAT IS MICRO-NEEDLING

RYSE offers Micro-Needling & PRP service as alternative to more invasive hair restoration procedures (such as hair transplant). Micro-needling uses a sterile needle-tip containing 12 tiny micro-needles to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This initiates the skin’s repair process to naturally produce collagen and elastin, an ideal environment to regrow your own natural hair. Micro-channels created by the treatment allow for optimal absorption of topical products and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), enhancing their effects in the deeper layers of skin.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma is a concentration of

platelets in the blood that are crucial to wound healing. When used for hair restoration, PRP releases growth factors into the skin to expedite the body’s own repair process and stimulate new collagen and elastin.

Blood is drawn from the arm in the same way as with any blood test. Then, using a centrifuge and a special method, platelet rich plasma is isolated the resultant growth factors. A numbing cream is applied to treatment areas on the scalp. Using a very thin needle, the growth factors are injected into the scalp. Once injected, the platelets immediately activate the body’s localized stem cells and begin rejuvenating and revitalizing the scalp to produce growth. The procedure is very tolerable with minimal discomfort and little to no downtime.

PRP is safe and natural because the procedure concentrates the regenerating cells from your own body directly back into the area where they are needed. There is absolutely no chance of getting a blood infection from another human being. PRP involves using your own cells and it will not be rejected by your immune system.
